Comfort for Cancer Patients

Many of you know that a few months ago I was diagnosed with colon cancer. I documented my daily ordeal on Facebook and received much support from my family & friends. Because of that love, I was able to come out in better health. I still must have surgery in mid-June to remove the tumors from my body and a follow-up of chemo 6 months after. Although my body and health have deteriorated, my spirit is strong and I am truly grateful for the prayers, love and support. Keep it coming!

While I was Henrico Doctors’ Hospital, I met some great doctors, nurses and staffers as well as patients who were going through the same thing. Now that I am done with the phase with my fight of cancer, I want to give back to those men and women that I met in the Colon and Rectal Surgery Program who are still going through their battle with this debilitating disease.

Through my company, Kenmar Corporation of Virginia, I have set up a Foundation to help cancer patients have a more comfortable hospital and recovery stay by donating personal care supplies that are much needed, yet insurance does not cover these costly necessities. Cancer robs one of so much, but dignity should not be one of those things.

To that end, I’ve set up a Donate Now button. Every little bit counts and $5 will get one patient one jar of Eucerin cream. Eucerin is a MUST to soothe how dry and cracked the skin becomes when going through radiation. It was invaluable during my treatment and remains a staple in my daily care.

All proceeds will go towards buying personal care supplies for cancer patients in the Program.

  1. I’m super proud of Comfort for Cancer Patients…

  2. This is a great thing you’re doing here. Many organizations look at the picture of cause and cure and so forth, and not to diminish that valued research, but the daily toll that this terrible disease takes on folks is often overlooked. I know the supplies will be received well and put to much good use.
